I covered the lining with iron-on vinyl for easier cleaning. It was surprisingly easy to work with.
Then I added a magnetic sew-in closer.
I'm not in love with the magnetic closure. I think it may work better with a zippered closure. Stay tuned.

How about a click-it closer? I think that would work well. Vinyl on the inside is wonderful so it can be cleaned easily.
