SUNDAY SNAPS

Still in Arizona this week, spending some very valuable time with my mother.  Here are a few of my moments

I had some leftover roast beef and made up these little beef rolls for Mom and me.  They were pretty “Awesome”.

I still managed to get in some quilty “Work/Play” time in.  I managed to get two charity quilts quilted and one gift quilted.

This is “What I Wore”, socks and rarely put on shoes.  And it felt really good.

Mom and I spent Thanksgiving together while my brother and his wife spent time with her family in New Mexico.  Since it was just the two of us, we ate our favorite foods:  lobster and artichokes.  I am “Grateful” for the time I am able to spend with her.

Did any of you go and experience “Black” Friday?  By the looks of things, I think I am glad I missed it.

One of this week’s prompt was a “Sound I Heard”.  Don’t you just love the sound of children laughing, even on TV?

And then there’s Ashton . . . .

And the last picture is the very clear Arizona “Sky”.

Quilt happy,

SUNDAY SNAPS

I’m in Arizona spending time with my mother.  So I will be taking you on my trip for part of this week's snaps.

“Drink” was the first word challenge.  Have you tried coconut milk?  I think I like it better than almond milk.  That is if you like coconut.

This is “Where I Slept” for the first part of the week.  I actually have a room at my brother’s house in Arizona.  At least they refer to it as mine.

Here is my “Man-Made” snap.  And the road trip begins.

In my Bag”  is probably more than I need; but, don’t most of us tend to take more than we need?  At least I was driving.

Speaking of driving, the “View from My Window”, on the road again. . . .

Are you looking for Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner?

Here we are.

And for the “Last Thing I Bought” . . . .

When I started to unpack look what “Happened”.   Now get up and go catch that mouse Nikki.

Quilt happy,

CHRISTMAS TREE SKIRT

I am not putting up a big Christmas tree anymore, and since my daughter in Florida she said she would like this tree skirt, it is getting mailed to her today.

I made this at the first quilting class I ever took.

For years I had tied quilts, or made quillows.  And, I was sewing clothes since I was in Elementary School.  But, all of that was different.  So, when this class was available at a local sewing machine store, I decided to take it.  I signed up with Carol Logue, now a good friend, and picked up a supply list.  It gave yardage amounts and general supplies.  So off I went to find fabrics (the best part, right?).  I wanted an all gold and white tree skirt.  So, I picked up a variety of gold and white fabrics:  satins through cottons.

Thank goodness Carol did not laugh at me as I came in with my weird variety of "quilting" fabrics.  And, I did get it done.  Even Trudy likes it.  Thanks Carol for being my first quilt teacher.

SUNDAY SNAPS

More random snaps again today.

Daylight saving time has ended and “5 o’clock” looks like this, at least right now.  Soon it will be completely dark by 5:00 PM.

A Favorite Thing” of mine, in my quilting room, is this LED light that I picked up at Ikea for less than $15.

This Reflection” shows a peek at one of my favorite quilts.  It's there, barely, but it's there.  It is the only one I have hanging.

“Something I do Everyday” could be soooo many things.  But, this is almost the first thing I do every day:  drink my Yacult.

“Something I Can’t or Won’t Live Without”  is all the great workshops our quilt guild holds and the wonderful women there.  Group hugs.

This is just an interesting “Night”  snap.

My two “Small”, dogs waiting to be fed.  Another thing I do every day, at 5 o’clock; something I won’t live without; who are some my favorite things (dogs aren’t really things), and I suppose a reflection of me.  Trudy doesn't like to sit on the hard, cold floor.

Quilt happy,

BELATED TABLE RUNNER

Here’s a little table runner I made for a birthday gift.  Got the pattern over here.

It was late; but, isn’t that just like a quilter?

SUNDAY SNAPS

This week is a completely random group of snaps. “Moon”

Next is the word “Clothes”.  I think my closet is bit boring; but, there you go.

This is “Whatever I Please”. It's my BFF's cat Lucy.  She was simply glowing in the warm sunshine.

At a friend’s birthday dinner celebration, the restaurant brought over a chocolate cupcake with a candle.  Perfect subject for “Starts with C” .

I went to a nice quilt show.  Just look at some of the “Color” and talent.

“Breakfast”:  nothing much to say about this except that I really love baked eggs.

Do any of you watch Shark Tank on“TV”?   I find it interesting and DVR it to watch while sewing.

Quilt happy,

Marilyn

QUILTY HELP

If you are interested in doing a little quilty help for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Erin over at My Patchwork Life is collecting blocks.   These disappearing 4-patch blocks:

They are easy peasy and Erin has a tute on her blog.  Why not make one or two or more for her.  After all, she's doing most of the work by putting them together and quilting them.

Also, if you are interested in helping out the storm victims in another way, a good source is www.charitynavigator.org  It keeps up to date on all the charities.

Quilt happy,
