THREE BANNERS

I actually have been sewing a little.  I made these three banners for my daughter in Florida (and completely out of my stash).  It is from an old Pat Sloan book on monthly banners. I had previously made my daughter the October, November, December and Happy Birthday banners.

Now she will have July, August and September.  I will try to get more done so she will be ready to use them starting in January.  All in good time.  I really need to replace mine as well.  Since I use them as outside decoration and made them in 2003, mine are looking pretty tired.

I hope you are enjoying your week.

SUNDAY SNAPS

This week's prompts:

SOMETHING I DREW- Then painted.

ALONE - Here she sits all alone.  If she could sing it would be "Nobody likes me; I guess I'll go eat worms".

WAITING - Just sitting here watching commercials and trailers and waiting for the movie to begin.

CARD - I love gift cards.

FREE - I went gluten free some time ago.  I must say it really isn't too hard to follow these days.  Lots of recipes and options at the grocers and restaurants.  Plus, I feel so much better.

BLACK + WHITE - Too many options for this prompt really.  But, I like this photo.

SUNRISE - was at 5:46 AM on this morning.  No sun to be seen, plus I rarely ever am awake in time for sunrise.

Have a great week and

SUNDAY SNAPS

This week's prompts:

MOTHER - This picture was taken of my mother when she was around 80; she will be 95 this year.

READY - All ready to take to the post office.

I SPY - was my favorite TV show in the 60s.  This fun show with a young Robert Culp and Bill Cosby shows on Retro TV each weeknight.  Makes me happy.

LINES - are everywhere.  But, these lines are from my Mother's Day vase.

FROM WHERE I WALK - It has just been too hot to walk here in Southern California this week.  So, I took a picture while I was a passenger in a car.  This is one of the many fires that get out of control at this time of year here in So. Cal.  Sadly, most of our fires are caused by humans.

CREATE - Took a workshop from Nora McMeeking at my guild and this was our project.  I do want you to know that this is the teacher's sample.  I can assure you I am not close to finished.  Sigh....

BAG - I made this bag from scraps I had on hand. It's a fun little bag.

Have a great week and

Quilt happy,

Marilyn

SUNDAY SNAPS

This week's prompts:

US - My girls, Trudy, Gracie, and I.

4:00 PM - It about getting margaritas and guacamole ready for Cinco de Mayo.

FROM DOWN LOW - My poor little garden angel is hanging on.  I guess I had better rescue her before she falls.

TAKEN FROM ABOVE - I never found myself up high (and I don't climb on things these days) so just a snap of me from above.  I guess it's called a selfie.

BLUE -. Blue just doesn't seem to be my color, not that I don't like blue, I just don't have much blue.  When I spotted this piece of pottery I decided it was my blue for the prompt. I painted this while visiting my daughter when she lived in Japan.  It was an interesting process in that you had no idea what you were actually doing until it came back after being washed with something and kilned.  But, I like it none-the-less.

FAVORITE - Oh how I love a good burger.  This one is from Tucker Duke's in Valpariso, Florida which is next to Niceville, which is next to Destin.  It's a dang good burger.

IN THE GARDEN - My avocados are just teeny tiny right now.  I love this tree.

Have a great week and

INTRODUCING MISS HADLEY MAE

My granddaughter Rachel and her husband Shawn recently had a baby girl.  Her name is Hadley Mae.  Yup; I'm a great grandma.  Here is a picture of Miss Hadley Mae and her momma.

Here is a picture of Miss Hadley Mae on her quilt that her great grandma made for her.

I hope you are enjoying your week.

SUNDAY SNAP

This week's prompts:

UNDER MY FEET - Driving...

CONTRAST - I love tulips. And I think the contrast here could be a quilt.  Of course, I see quilts in everything.

SILLY - Miss Noelle can be a goof.

BEGINS WITH J - Jacaranda tree.  I love this picture. I even love the Jacaranda tree.  I don't really love the mess they leave everywhere.

SNACK - This chocolate fountain was the dessert at the Orange Grove Quilters Guild New-Member Luncheon this week.  Oh yessss!

COLLECTION - Oh the fabric collection.  And, then there are the sub divisions within that fabric collection:  Stripes, polka dots, black & whites.  Somewhere along the way, I started collecting word fabric.  And, I have actually used a fair amount of it.  Oh be sure I have more than this.

Have a great week and

Quilt happy,
