SUNDAY SNAPS

This week's prompts:

GROWING - in my garden:  avocados.

IN THIS MOMENT - I am picking out fabric for a class I will be taking.

WHAT JUNE LOOKS LIKE - Even though it is summer here, this is "What June (gloom) Looks Like".

SUN FLARE - This was a more difficult challenge to take a picture into the sun and still be able to see what it is.  Here the girls are checking to see what's happening out there.

DREAMING - about what?  Maybe squirrels.

LOVING - a quiet morning with my breakfast on my new mug rug.

BED - is where I read my tablet in the morning and my Kindle in the evening.

Have a great week and

Quilt happy,

A FINISH!

I have a finish!  This has been in my to-do pile for years.  Usually I quilt my own quilt; but, I have so many I took this into a local long-arm-quilter to quilt.
It is one of Robin Gallagher's patterns over at Robin Quilts Etc:  Five-Ten-Twenty.  You can use Five one-yard cuts, Ten 1/2 yard cuts, or Twenty fat quarters. This is the Five.  And, it's a great pattern.  I hope you check it out. I bought these 5 fabrics in a grouping sold together at the first Long Beach IQF.  So, maybe six years ago?  It really needed to get done.  Sorry the picture is so washed out.  I have already washed and dried it and it is ready to go.

I used the piping binding that I love so much.

Now only nine more quilt tops to quilt.

I hope you are enjoying your week.

Quilt happy,

Marilyn

SUNDAY SNAPS

This week's prompts:

LOVELY - Having a lovely morning just kicking back with Trudy.

IN THE SHADOWS - sits Gracie. Gracie is a rescue who had apparently been abused, especially around the face.  She is 11 years old now and has been with me for 10 years.

PEACEFUL - for me is a quiet moment stitching.

QUIRKY - These little quirky guys are in a prominent spot where I can be reminded to See no Evil, Hear no Evil, and Speak no Evil.

HABIT - I know I'm not the only one who has this habit (or obsession) of collecting pre-cuts.

YAY! - it's pinned and ready to quilt!!

HERE I AM - when I should be cleaning house or running errands.

Have a great week and

Quilt happy,

Marilyn

SUNDAY SNAPS

This week's prompts:

T IS FOR - Thread; I think most quilters are obsessed with thread. Of course,  you know this is just a small representation of what is in my quilt room.

WE LIVE HERE - My fur babies and I love our little corner of the world.  And, I have the best neighbors.  I found the lemons and avocados hanging on my backdoor.

FLYING - Time really does seem to be flying on most days.

THE BEGINNING - And in the beginning which came first the chicken or the egg?

PASTEL - Pretty flowers of pastel pink.

SIMPLY - Delicious!

CROSS - Stitch...

Have a great week and

Quilt happy,

Marilyn

SUNDAY SNAPS

Sunday Snaps on Monday this week.  I've been in Florida for my granddaughter's high-school commencement.

This week's prompts:

JOY- My girls seem to get joy out of sitting on happy quilts.

DOING - My doing on this day is finishing up my packing to spend the day flying to Florida.

FAMILY - I made this little quilt for my daughter's family when she professed to be finished adding to her family after three children.  Then along came little Noelle.  I bet you can guess which muumuu is Noelle's.

ORDINARY - An ordinary day for this mini schnauzer, Molly (who is Trudy's sister), is sitting on the back of this sofa.

11:00 O'CLOCK - It was 11:00 PM before we finished these graduation leis my granddaughter, Madeline, is holding.  But, aren't they wonderful?

ADVENTURE - My granddaughter, Lauren, just graduated high school. Think of all the adventures that await her.

PATTERN - Love the pattern in this mosaic that my daughter made using a recycled window and broken glass and dishes.

Have a great week and

Quilt happy,
Marilyn

SUNDAY SNAPS

This week's prompts:

NEIGHBORHOOD- A view to the right.

PET - This is my favorite picture of the girls.

MEAL - My morning meal of yogurt, blueberries, and homemade granola.

UNIQUE - My son gave me this hardhat turned into a lady bug a long time ago.  It sure could use a fresh coat of paint.

NEGATIVE SPACE - I snapped this picture using my phone of the recent Southern California fires.  Always a scary event.

SIDE VIEW - of my raised herb garden.

SUNSET - at one of my favorite restaurants.

Have a great week and
