SUNDAY SNAPS

This week's prompts:

FRAGRANT -  Crock pot Carnitas.  In a few hours, the whole house will be very fragrant.

MAIL - With almost everything being on-line these days, I get very little mail.

BREAKFAST - Simple breakfast is the norm.

DULL - One pair of these scissors is dull and one pair is sharp.  Boy can I get them mixed up easily.

TRAVEL - On my way to visit with my mother and brother in Kingman, Arizona.

DESSERT - I made them their favorite family dessert:  pear pie.

NEARBY - My brother's dogs, Sadie and Patches, are always nearby when I visit.

Have a great week and

THURSDAY THOUGHTS

I have been working on a few things that I CAN show you.  So much of what I've been doing lately is hush, hush until the reveals.
I managed to get a small handbag done.  I recently took an English Paper Piecing class with Melinda Fulkerson.  She gave a trunk show and a workshop to Quilters by the Sea.  You can find her blog here.

I am almost through with this Granny Square quilt top.  I want to add a border; but, finding the perfect fabric has been a challenge.

Orange Grove Quilters Guild was given several old quilt tops, some from the 40s.  Sadly, they were not stored properly and are not in very good shape.  However, I think it is almost a sin to just toss them.  So, I am going to see if I can salvage any of them.  I took one and put it in the dryer with a fabric sheet and a wet towel to just freshen the smell.  It is all hand pieced and as you can see, that in itself has issues.  I think because the 9 patches are from different pieces of clothing and the sashing is on the thin side of cottons.

Then there is the issue with tucks.  I'm going to start quilting on it today and see what happens.  Stay tuned.

I hope you are enjoying your week.

Quilt happy,

Marilyn

SUNDAY SNAPS

This week's prompts:

ART -  my granddaughter painted this when she was about twelve.

MIRROR - sitting on the floor till I decide where it is going to hang.

GATHERING - the sewing supplies and getting those blocks together.

INSIDE - my fridge.

GIVE - it to me already!  Can't you see we ARE sitting.

CLOUDS - of smoke.  No clouds to photo today so this is from my
archives.

CLEAN - A clean well-lighted place.  Who said that?

Have a great week and

Quilt happy,

SUNDAY SNAPS

This week's prompts:

"S" -  is for sewing.  Big surprise, right?

MIDDLE - in the middle of my street is this blue square.  Can you see it?  Almost?

It tells the fire department, especially when it's dark, where to locate the fire hydrant. This fire hydrant has always made it a challenge backing out of the driveway.  The last time it was hit, the city moved it over by about 12".  I telling you the truth.

PILE - of laundry for the day.

I'M GREATFUL FOR - lots of things.  But, today for my relaxing patio with a cup of coffee.

SPOT - A perfect spot for a nice lunch and great conversation.

PET PEEVE - open cupboard and closet doors.  Not very fond of open drawers either.  Maybe just a touch of OCD in this area.

MIX- to make homemade granola.  So much better than store bought.

Have a great week and

Quilt happy,

Marilyn

LOST - I lost; chocolate won!

RISE- The temperature's rising, it isn't surprising....

LANDSCAPE - Taken of my backyard landscape since I had an at-home day. Ahhhh

LUNCH - On a hot and humid day.

Have a great week and
