Remember that modern quilt I was making. It’s finished.
I am calling it City Blocks. Thank you to Joe Cunningham for
such a fun workshop which he calls “Rock the Block”. For more information on
Joe, take a look at his web site here.
I backed the quilt with fabric I picked up a few years ago at
Ikea. I also used a facing binding instead of the traditional method of binding.
Last week I was at a quilt retreat at a nunnery in Temecula,
California. It is such a lovely spot for a retreat. I captured this photo on
our way to dinner.
While there I worked on several small projects I needed to
catch up on. I did manage to make this quilt top for philanthropy.
I am thinking it will make some little girl very happy.
I hope you have a good week and
Quilt happy,
Marilyn

I'm curious about the process for making City Blocks. It looks like you did a lot of cutting up and resewing blocks? Did you enjoy the process? Just wondering if I want to tackle something like this.
I really like "facing" the edges of quilts - gives a nice, clean look. Your link quilt will indeed make a little girl happy. Being at a nunnery would make for a unique retreat!
You accomplished so much at retreat. It looks like a beautiful spot too. LOVE the yellows, blacks and grays.
Yes....that will be a perfect quilt for a girl.
