MAKE-IT-MONDAY (Wk 38)

I am hoping to get at least one of these UFOs I brought back from the Riley Blake's Fabric Fest done by Friday.  I also have a few other small things to get done for little gifts.  But, of course I cannot show you that yet.

 

The Retro Travel Bag is my day project.  The Big-Stitch Quilting is my evening project.

MAKE-IT-MONDAY (Wk. 37)

This week my BFF and I are off to Las Vegas to attend the first annual Riley Blake Fabric Fest.  You can read about it here.  We have no idea what to expect.  But, I do not need to take a sewing machine.  Yay!  Not even fabric.  Yay!  We have kits waiting for us.  I will be taking three workshops and two lectures.  Sounds great doesn't it?

 

So all I had to pack was sewing notions, mats, and rulers. Well, there is a suitcase of stuff to stay in the sleeping room.  I'll show you on Friday how far I got.

My BFF, Robin, and I are getting together today to make this Diva Frame Wallet.  Only thing is, I have yet to decide on which two fat quarters to use.  Do I need to make three?  Rather doubt I'll get that far.  I'm still working on my secret sewing.

MAKE-IT-MONDAY (Wk 34)

This week I have a couple of projects to make that I cannot show you.  Not even a peek.  But, in between working on these two projects, I will be working on a small project as well. 

I love pre-cuts.  Especially charms, and  I use a lot of them.  I am putting some things together using my left-over charms.

I hope to be showing you on Friday how I used these charms.  Or at least some of them.

I have had this container full of small-project kits ready to go for some time now.  

 

 

This is the perfect week to tackle them because I am having a bit of work done in my sewing room and have moved my sewing machine and design wall out to the family room to sew.  What a mess.  Oh well, it will all be worth it in the end.

This week will be spent quilting this, which I finished last week. 

 

The backing and binding fabric I found at my favorite go-to fabric store, where everything is 20% until the 15th.  Bonus!

 

In addition, I have a few small kits cut out to work on when and if I get bored with just quilting.

MAKE-IT-MONDAY

The  Orange Grove Quilters Guild was given these hand-pieced, vintage fabric blocks.  I offered to turn the 124 nine-patch blocks into a quilt for the upcoming Tea and Auction in October.  My goal for this week is to finish the quilt top.  Still deciding if I will send it to a quilter or quilt it myself.  I'll know when the top is completed.

They are five-inch blocks and I am adding Kona Cotton, Natural.  No, it will not be hand pieced or hand quilted.  We want it for this year's auction.

Quilters by the Sea's quilt show is in October and they are looking for small items for the boutique.  My goal is to make some small projects to donate, using some or all of these fabrics.  I wonder how many I will get done?  Seems like one busy week after the other these days. Might only be a couple of items.

My creative bent this week will be summerizing my bedroom.  So, instead of spending a lot of time in my quilt room, I will be shopping for things other than fabric.  I already picked up a few things when I hit Ikea with my BFF a couple of weeks ago.

MAKE-IT-MONDAY

I wasn't going to be home this week.  However, my plans fell through and this container of fabric was going with me for this week's project.  I am still going ahead with my plans and I am even going to tell you what I will be making.

I am in a house block swap.  The swap has you making 18 house blocks that represent you in some way.  I have plans for getting them all done by Finished-on-Friday.  Fingers crossed.  Now to get started.
