IT'S FINISHED

Finally.  And just in time for Thursday's Quilters by the Sea Meeting. You see, this was an UFO I committed to finish by the October meeting.
I must say, this probably would have sat in its bag for a very long time had it not been for our Special Event committee who came up with this challenge.  Big thanks to Ann, Pat, and Jerilee for being that inspiration to get those UFOs done.   I have named it La Luce ed il Lato Sucro della Luna, Italian for The Light and Dark Side of the Moon.  We struggled becoming friends; but, we now have a better understanding of one another. However, it really does have a dark side.  Now on to my UFO that is due in December:  Wavy Log Cabin.

BIG RED IS DONE

Yup.  I finished it.  And just in time for next week's guild meeting.  This is my third of five UFOs I have committed to complete this year.  And, this pinwheel quilt (lovingly renamed Big Red) is due on Wednesday.

And look who worked her way into the picture.  It's Gracie this time.  Now to find that label.

ANOTHER FLIMSY READY TO QUILT

I took advantage of the long weekend and finished the next UFO quilt top on my list.  It is just a flimsy at this point.  Now to sandwich it, quilt it, bind it, and label it.  It is pretty large; but, I am going to man handle it with my Janome 6600.  Still thinking about how to quilt it.
That is a dark red pinwheel  BTW.   Now, what to use for the backing?  Matchy or some off-the-wall unrelated bright?

CINDY'S 3RD UFO COMPLETED

This UFO of Cindy's isn't due to our guild until the August meeting.  But, since I have another one to complete, I can check this off my list.  This was the easiest one of Cindy's so far.  She had made all the decisions with the exception of the binding.  I found it in a bag layered (not pinned) complete with batting and backing.  The backing was a surprise from what I had seen of Cindy's projects.  But, I love it.  All I had to do was pin it, quilt it, and bind it.  I had this stripe in my stash that matches the colors.  I still need to wash it and put a label on it.

This will go to our guild's community service group to donate to charity. Some new mother will like it for her baby.

AUGUST UFOs

So it is now on to the UFOs due for August.  Here is Cindy's:

It is exactly how I pulled it out of storage.  This can't be too hard right?  All there is left to do is quilting, binding and the label.

Here is mine:
There is a little more to do with this one.   still have a few blocks left to make. However,  it is well on its way.  But, August will be here before you know it.

MORE ON JUNE'S UFO PROGRESS

I have finished the quilting on the June UFO.  Yay!!!  But, I have a million threads to pull to the back.  Well, I have a lot anyway.  And, I still have to sew the binding down.  I cheated on the label.  I used one I had printed with my name a while ago.  So shoot me.  Honestly.  It's a label.  I'll show you when it's all done.  Here is a peek.  Thank you Frances for your advise on quilting the monster.

CINDY'S PROMISED UFOs

These are the five (5) UFOs that were committed on Cindy's behalf.  You can read about the challenge here.  Two have been completed.  This one here was turned in at our April Quilters by the Sea guild meeting. And the second one will be turned in at our June QBS meeting.

Looks even better with a little centerpiece.

I think this will be going to the guild to use at this year's quilt show raffle in October.  Someone may be happy to bid on one of Cindy's UFOs.  I know I would.  Oh gosh, I can see me now, bidding on this little quilt.  It looks good on that table.

I'M READY

These two quilts need to be finished before June 8th.  That's when my family from Florida will be visiting for 3 whole weeks.  Wahoo!  I can't wait.  But, these quilts are due to my guild (I committed both of them) for the June meeting.

Now that they are layered and pinned . . . . ???

ON MY DESIGN WALL

June's UFO.  I am just playing right now.  I'm sure it will change several times before I'm done.  But, it's a start.  The printed batik blocks I bought at our guild's Red Hen auction maybe six years ago.  I am finally getting them together.

This may take longer than I was first thinking.  Because I'm thinking.
