This
week I finally bought a new washer/dryer.
It's been 20 years since I bought my last one. Not bad I suppose. My
washer/dryer live in my garage. You know that meant I had to clean out the
garage. Surprisingly, it only took the better part of a day.
I have had a stackable washer/dryer combo for so long, that it suits me fine. After all, one person can't have that much laundry, can they?
While
cleaning out the garage I ran across this among my mother's stuff.
My brother's christening dress and my christening dress. And, those are my baby shoes. I'm sure there must have been shoelaces on them at one time. But, that is nothing more than string. I know we lived in the country in Fresno; but, seriously?
I did manage to get some sewing in this week.
A
table topper for the Talking Threads Opportunity basket. Nine members made a block each. All I did was sash it and put it together. Ready for quilting next.
Have
a good week and
Quilt happy,
Marilyn

Great job on the quilt, apron and potholders.
Amazing what you find when you clean up. Lots of memories. Nice new washer and dryer. And a great table topper, apron and potholders.
Those christening gowns and shoes are treasures! I'm sure the new machines are much more efficient, Right???
Love those churn dash blocks! The apron and potholders are great too.
LOVE the fabric in your apron! When we got married, my husband's Mom gave me his baby shoes...in their original box!
You are so lucky to live in California. If we had our washer out in the garage, it would be frozen most of the year! Even though there are just two of us, I bought a big front loader last time so I could wash quilts. Everything and anything to feed the habit!
What a fun find....love the apron....
