QUILTING WITH FRIENDS

Back again from a wonderful time at Vina de Lestonnac.  This is one of our beautiful views.

What fun way to spend time with such lovely ladies and chat it up, eat too much, and quilt-till-we-wilt. You always think you are going to get much more done that you actually do don't you?  None-the-less, I am happy with what I have here.

First up is a twin-sized quilt, Lattice Patch.  It's Robin Gallagher's pattern and you can find her pattern here.  It is one of her magical patterns that goes from this

to this.

I still need to find a border fabric.  Then I can at least get it into the "Need-to-Quilt Pile".

Next I did a wallet (this is the 9th one I've made).  And, a little bag that took me far too long to make.

So I came home with two more quilts cut out and ready to go for next time.  And my "Need-to-Quilt Pile" keeps growing.  Sigh....  But, I am a happy rested chappy; it's all worth it.  Have a good day and

Quilt happy,

Marilyn

SUNDAY SNAPS

This week's prompts:

CREATE - I created these handy fabric squares to use as catchers.  They can catch threads for us sewers or all kinds of odds and ends.

VEGETABLE - My favorite is the artichoke.  This one is all ready to be baked, my new favorite way to cook them.

MAGIC - My granddaughter and her friend created this magical back door entry a couple of summers ago.

FEET - Little canine feet.

PEACE - A peaceful spot of mine.

FUNNY - Sticking with the backyard, this backyard art is a hoot.

ACT OF KINDNESS - Nine and a half years ago I rescued this little girl.  A small animal group rescued her from the pound a day before she would have been put to sleep.  She will be 11 next month.

Have a good week and

Quilt happy,

Marilyn

GOING SEWING

I've been putting together and cutting kits or sewing projects this week.  Like most of you, I have so much fabric that putting together kits should be a no brainer.  Of course, I still had to go shopping to fill in gaps, like the perfect background.  But, I have several kits ready to go now.

Tomorrow, my friendship group is meeting for a sew-in day. It will be nice to just set up the machine and put the foot to the pedal.

Then on Monday through Thursday I'm going to another group sew-in.  I'm sure I have enough cut to see me through both.  Gosh it will be nice to just have nothing to do but sew, and eat, and visit. Awwwwwww.......

Quilt happy,

Marilyn

HELLO OUT THERE

I have had major problems with my blog; but, I think I have fixed them.  Fingers crossed.

I have been back in Long Beach since the end of January and have settled into my regular routine.  And, the dogs are very happy to have their yard back.  They were almost funny to watch romp with such joy.  You know what they say, it is fun to vacation, and oh so good to be back home.

I have not done a lot of sewing.  However, my friendship group is doing a Round Robin this year.  There are ten of us in total, so it has the potential of growing quite large.  Here is my center block.

I think it is quite fitting after spending so much time in Florida. I went with a raw-edge applique for the birds and foliage.  I will probably bling them after I get it back and quilt it. We are all putting our first border on this month.  I finished my friend Terri's block today.  I can't show you because she may see it here.  But, I like how it turned out.

I hope to have a newsier post next time, now that I can get into it again.  In the meantime

Quilt happy,
Marilyn
