I have been working on a few things that I CAN show you. So much of what I've been doing lately is
hush, hush until the reveals.
I managed to get a small handbag done. I recently took an English Paper Piecing
class with Melinda Fulkerson. She gave a trunk show and a workshop to Quilters by the Sea.
You can find her blog here.
I am almost through with this Granny Square quilt top. I want to add a border; but, finding the
perfect fabric has been a challenge.
Orange Grove Quilters Guild was given several old quilt tops,
some from the 40s. Sadly, they were not
stored properly and are not in very good shape.
However, I think it is almost a sin to just toss them. So, I am going to see if I can salvage any of
them. I took one and put it in the dryer
with a fabric sheet and a wet towel to just freshen the smell. It is all hand pieced and as you can see,
that in itself has issues. I think
because the 9 patches are from different pieces of clothing and the sashing is
on the thin side of cottons.
Then there is the issue with tucks. I'm going to start quilting on it today and
see what happens. Stay tuned.
I hope you are enjoying your week.
Quilt happy,
Marilyn

Love your little hexie bag! So cute. Love your granny squares too. Quilt the heck out of that nine patch! Those pleats should disappear.
I love your hexagon Marilyn. So colorful. Looks like you have been busy. My friend researches and restores old quilts. She is always telling us in her mini group about them.
hugs Karen
The hexies look fabulous. Those quilts will look nice once you get them all "patted" out and quilted.
