Wow, it’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve posted anything. I took a small trip to from where I hail (I haven’t lived there for more than 50 years now). Oh the memories. As I dipped into that big Central Valley farmland, I saw that they were harvesting the cotton. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen this. And, I don’t remember it looking exactly like this; but, these are bales and bales of cotton ready to be transported.

Another very fond memory of mine was the “Pixley” water tower. I always remember that as we would drive past it, we were close to home. It was nice to see it is still there to greet us.

Another memory is the drive-in movie we used to attend. I think I saw Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” here. I can’t remember the last time I was at a drive- in movie. But, I’m guessing it was when the kids were small enough to go in their pajamas. Not the best pictures; but, they were taken from a moving car so....

As for sewing, there hasn’t been much of that lately. I did finish this batik quilt. My girlfriend’s new décor needed a green quilt. She had an older one I had made, so we traded this out. Quilts have a way of getting second lives I believe.

It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just a few days away. Where has this year gone? Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love being reminded of how much we have to be thankful for. Have a blessed holiday and

Quilt happy,

Gosh....I remember all the cotton up there. I wonder if they still have drive-ins anymore. I remember taking the kids in their p.j.s too.

It looks like you made a good trade on your quilt! That is a pretty one.

Glad you are back. I missed you. One of the things that hit me when I returned to my roots (Holland) was that everything looked so small. Or at least smaller than I remembered. One of the things that surprised me was an old windmill just a street away from our house. I didn't know it actually existed/ Aren't memories are great? Oh, and I love that quilt!
