Okay, so I will still need to quilt it; but, the top is done!
I have decided to make a quilt each year using the Pantone color of the year. I started this a while back when I became aware of this and the very fun names they are using. In 2012 the color of the year was Tangerine Tango.
It wasn't hard to put this color in a quilt because I love fall colors. I ended up giving that quilt to my daughter to use as raffle quilt for a fund raiser.
2013's color of the year is Emerald. This was harder to find in fabric. But, while at a quilt retreat in Hanford, CA, I found the perfect piece of batik and picked up a few yards with no particular pattern in mind.
Eventually I settled on a Goose in the Pond pattern.
I had made it once before as a mystery quilt and gave it away. But, I always loved that particular pattern.
I still love this pattern and can't wait to quilt it. I'm not giving this one away.
See Trudy photo bombing?
Radiant Orchid has been named 2014 color of the year.
Up until very recently, it had been listed as #3 on the Pantone list with Dazzling Blue as #1. I'm glad I hadn't bought any fabric. And, I have an idea on how to use Radiant Orchid in a quilt.
Have a good weekend and
Quilt happy,
Marilyn
