AROUND THE WORLD (ATW) SWAP

The ATW swap blocks are completed and mailed to everyone, finally.  For this swap, each person who signed on, sent out a fat eighth of their desired fabric. Then that fabric was used in your chosen block.  Originally I had selected a rather modern block.  But, as the swappers began to commit to their blocks, I realized I needed to pick something more traditional.  Here are the blocks I made for everyone, using their fabrics plus fabrics from my stash.

I enjoyed working with the different fabrics, finding it a great exercise.  Now my blocks are starting to arrive and I'm looking forward to seeing them all together.  Once they all arrive, I promise to share with you.

Hope you are enjoying your week and

Quilt happy,

Marilyn

IT'S IN THE MAIL

My friends with Yahoo Group, C-R-A-F-T,  planned a 6.5" House Block Swap.  Seems like it has been going on forever.  Khristina from Sew Prim Khris collected them for her part of the world, and I collected  for this part.  One house builder from Spain sent to me.  Yesterday the last of them arrived.  That meant it was time to get organized.  So after sorting them into piles

they were packaged

and off they went in my very cute Cracker Barrel mail bag (thank you Robin).

Be looking for them in your mail boxes sometime soon.  Well, for Spain and Australia it may be a bit longer.

Now to start making that quilt.

Quilt happy,

Marilyn

FRIENDS REVISITED

Remember my recent post about the F-R-I-E-N-D-S swap I was in?  You can read about it here.  I received mine from my new friend, Judy.

Judy lives in New York and I got this package only two days after she mailed it.  Judy doesn't know me; but, she must be a good study.  Look what she sent me.

In case it is hard to figure out, I'll help.
Fabric, 2 yards of darling Christmas fabric by Alexander Henry.
Rotary cutter blades in 3 sizes.  I know.  How great is that?
Inspiration from 3 current quilt magazines.  Pretty cool right?
Embroidered (by Judy) bookmark.  I love it.
Notions that include ruler grippers, point turner/presser & quilt marking chalk.  Love it.
Dark Chocolate tea towel.  Do I need to say anything else?
Soap, made by her friend and her friend's two autistic sons.  And, they smell divine.

Thank you so much my new friend Judy. It is like you've known me for a long time.

Quilt happy,
Marilyn

FRIENDS SWAP

Kristina from Sew Prim Khris, organized a F-R-I-E-N-D-S Swap a while ago.  We were to get together 7 small gifts to spell out FRIENDS. Due to traveling for Judy (my swapping friend) and our recent Two Wacky Women quilting retreat, I just got it in the mail today.

I hope she likes it.

Quilt happy,
Marilyn

Mother's Day Swap

I received my swap package today from Australia. Yes, all the way from Australia. Look at those cute little owls. Khristina's current favorite collection is owls and I had no idea that owl gift wrap even existed. But, isn't is cute?
And, just look at how she spoiled me:

M - Money holder (homemade) and Aussie Money so I can buy a coffee when I visit
O - Orange Owl Bookmark
T - Tote, made by Khristina (I have the prototype for a new pattern)
H - Heather Bailey Fat Quarter and Hand Lotion
E - Emu Shopping Sack
R - Raggedy Ann Pincushion (I collect them)

A great big thank you with hugs for spoiling me with such lovely gifts. I need to get a better picture of Khristina's Tote for everyone to see. It is going to be a great pattern.

I hope she likes her gifts. I didn't make mine. Sigh.....................

I hope everyone has a wonderful, happy Mother's Day.
